adiCT's Corner: Baguio Thrift Shop Adventure

So am at Baguio now for a seminar for work. Our first day was a bit of a day off so we could all settle in our hotel rooms. Now I went out for lunch and after that, took a stroll around the city. Baguio is known for is incredible cool weather (The Summer Capital of the Philippines) and another thing Baguio is best known for? The thrift shops.

Now I know most don't like the idea of buying at thrift shops (I myself is a bit reluctant for hygienic purposes) but every once in a while you'll find diamonds among the rubble. So I went in this shop and found these gems. Some dating back as far as 2002. I took shots of the pairs that caught my attention. I wasn't able to bring a camera so I had to do with my Blackberry 9900's low quality camera (sigh, I know Urriah, go easy on me).

I was like in a time machine reminiscing on some of these oldies but goodies. Most of the shoes I took a shot of was in 8.5-10 condition. Prices ranged from Php 2,300 to Php 4,000 ($53 to $91), a bit steep but these are some of the coolest and nostalgic pairs you'll ever find. Plus pairs from the early 2000s were built with high end and quality materials, so most of these are a joy to look at given their current condition.

Now these pairs are the ones that stood out the most to me. First of all, I'm a big Tracy McGrady fan. Second I love Kevin Garnett. Third, who can forget Kidd and those Turbines?! Finally, we all need some wheat in our rotation!
