adidas D Rose Lakeshore

adidas is set to release Derrick Rose's first lifestyle/casual shoes, the adidas D Rose Lakeshore. The name symbolizes Chicago's Lakeshore Drive and its majestic view of Lake Michigan.

A true native of Chicago, Rose has released shoes and colorways taking a nod to the city of Chicago, its iconic landmarks and places that are sentimental to him such as the adidas D Rose Englewood, a nod to his birthplace and where he was raised, Englewood on Chicago's South Side, and the adidas D Rose 773, Chicago's area code.

The adidas D Rose Lakeshore has a clean upper taking cues from some of adidas Originals' iconic models such as the Stan Smith's clean upper. D Rose logo can be seen at the heel, reminiscent of the Trefoil logo placement on the heel of the Ultrastar's.

Other details on the shoes can be easily recognized by true D Rose fans. “R.A.D.” stands for his three brothers, Reggie, Allen and Dwayne; “Not supposed to be here” is Derrick’s quote about defying the odds to make the NBA; “No Freshman” represents his high school’s rule of no freshman on the varsity, which Derrick honored even when they asked him to come up for the state playoffs; “Everybody Eats” especially all Rose’s peeps from Englewood, and “1.7%” were the odds the Bulls would get the No. 1 pick in the 2008 Draft to select Rose.

The D Rose Lakeshore is available now in a predominantly black and scarlet upper colorways for $80 at adidas.com.
